Madrid Airport Operating Normally After Snow

Madrid's Barajas Airport opened all four runways and resumed normal operations on Sunday after heavy snow grounded weekend flights, airports operator AENA said.
Spanish media reported some delays on Sunday after thousands of passengers were stranded at the airport due to cancellations.
The airport closed for five hours on Friday after one of the heaviest snowfalls in decades and was operating at only half of its capacity for most of Saturday.
Some 55,000 passengers suffered flight delays or cancellations between Friday and Saturday, El Pais said.
The bad weather in Spain, which like other parts of Europe has had an unusually cold winter, added to weeks of disruptions in Spanish flag carrier Iberia's services caused by industrial action by pilots.
Iberia said late on Saturday it had cancelled 544 flights since Friday and put over 2,000 passengers in hotels as a result of the conflict with its pilots and the bad weather.
